COVID-19 AND AAS-A

The COVID-19 pandemic is impacting us all, taking its toll on all who are sheltering in place and all who are struggling to keep their families safe. And I’m sure I speak for us all in giving especial recognition to those Assyrians in the medical field who are working so hard to live their oaths and protect our communities.
The entire Assyrian Aid Society family is in my thoughts. I pray for your health and safety, just as our people in the Homeland are in our thoughts and prayers as they struggle in circumstances so much more dire than our own. We owe it to them to work even harder during this extraordinary time.
I also want to assure you that, despite the challenges of the national office being in lockdown in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Assyrian Aid Society of America is fully open for business and continues to follow its mission. The Executive Committee is in constant contact with each other as well as with Chapters and AAS-Iraq as necessary. The Treasurer has full access to all our banking tools and services, and the national office itself has been successfully relocated to our Administrator’s home office. AAS-A is still hard at work.
God bless you all. Stay safe and thank you for your support.
Antoine Varani, D.D.S.
President, Assyrian Aid Society of America
